Want to live like the rich and famous?

Whilst wasting time at work the other day I came across the website FractionalLife.com and thought it was an interesting concept that was worth sharing with you.
Essentially it is a kind of directory that links to other sites offering “fractional ownership” of assets. Rather than owning something yourself, you are a shareholder with a number of other people.
With the economy in the state that it is (i.e. Credit Crunch) it isn’t always worth purchasing something outright when you will not use it everyday. Or it might simply be way beyond your means but you still want to feel like you’re living the life of the super rich.
The things we’re talking about here are partial ownership of helicoptors and jets, yachts, sports or classic cars, property such as overseas holiday homes or hotels. Even assets as diverse as designer handbags or football teams can be partially owned.
The list goes on and it is definitely worth a look if you want a slice of the highlife but can’t afford it all year round. Makes the time spent beavering away in the office a little more worthwhile if you know you’ve got the use of a private jet for a few weeks of the year or your own share of a nightclub.

There is a huge variety of things that could be shared, pretty much anything that is expensive and isn’t used all of the time. Fractional Life is a great site and gives you access to all the commercial offerings available.
If you can’t find the type of property, boat etc that you want, in the location you want, or with the usage arrangement that suits you, consider creating your own syndicate to do this. http://www.yours2share.com can help you do this.
With any fractions, the devil is in the detail. Be prepared to spend time reading the contracts and get independent professional legal and financial advice. Always have a contract.
